SPWLA 2008 Call for Abstracts

Молотобоец: http://www.spwla2008.com/ Call for Abstracts Abstract submissions in the areas of formation evaluation listed below are welcome. These topics include interpretation methods, tool and/or measurement physics, and relevant research studies. 1. Acoustic/Borehole Seismic 2. Carbonate Evaluation 3. Cased-Hole/Production Logging 4. Electrical/Electromagnetic Logging 5. Formation Testing/Sampling/Downhole Fluid Analysis 6. Formation Evaluation/Reservoir Description Methods 7. Geological Applications/Borehole Imaging 8. High Angle/Horizontal Well Evaluation 9. Logging and Measurement While Drilling 10. Mineral and Unconventional Resource Evaluation 11. Nuclear Logging 12. Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Logging 13. Petrophysical Properties/Log and Core Integration 14. Reservoir Anisotropy/Heterogeneity/Thin-Bed Evaluation The VP-Technology would also like to solicit Abstracts for tutorial papers in areas of formation evaluation where the technology and/or interpretation can be especially complex or problematic. These areas include but are not limited to petrophysical evaluation of carbonate reservoirs, low resistivity pay evaluation, and high angle/horizontal well evaluation. The idea is to begin a technical session in such an area with a tutorial talk explaining the problems and assessing the currently available best practices and their limitations. Abstracts submitted for tutorial papers will go through the standard review process. The information contained in the abstract is the principal basis for the acceptance or rejection of the paper. Notification of acceptance will be made in December 2007. If accepted, the abstract will be published in the April 2008 issue of Petrophysics. The paper will be scheduled for presentation at the Edinburgh Symposium, and a complete manuscript will be required for the Transactions by April 4, 2008. THIS DEADLINE IS FIRM As in 2007, paper submissions will be by electronic (online) means only. For questions contact Vicki at SPWLA; +1 713 947-8727 or email vicki@spwla.org. Note to Authors Complete a separate on-line form for each abstract submitted. It should contain 200 to 400 words. Avoid the use of equations, trade marks, literature references, and supplementary text. Abstract submittal is by online submission.
